Nostalgia is my driving force, like an old cottage with wood panelled walls, or dirty feet and wild hair after a summers day, I long for the feeling and am truly inspired by it. There’s just something so authentically imperfect about nostalgia.
I am connected to photography through the inspiration and teachings of my father, who while I was growing up, taught me everything about his professional photography career and passion. I feel lucky to have grown up with two artistic parents who have always encouraged my love for art, leading me to pursue an education in photography in college and graduating with a bachelors degree.
I tend to romanticize the mundane to a fault, but I believe the beauties in life aren’t always extravagant moments. Things like the way the trees sway in the breeze, how your partner makes you coffee every morning while you’re still curled up in bed, or the bright ambient glow of street lights through your car window on a rainy evening. There’s true beauty to be seen all around us when we take a second to breathe it all in.
I am a firm believer in taking the scenic route, the slow avoidance of returning from a weekend adventure out of town, or even a little change to a daily routine - take the scenic road. The imperfect bumpy dirt road that winds through the changing landscapes may come with it’s challenges, but what we make up for in a timely return is the reward of new views and inspirations
